Neuropsychiatry
Neuropsychiatry is the field of medicine that lies between neurology and psychiatry.
This field aims to address neurological conditions, changes in brain structure and physiology that present with changes in cognition, psychological/psychiatric state, behaviour, and in adaptive function. Changes in brain function can occur after damage or disease affecting the brain or from disease present peripherally.
This field also addresses unexplained functional neurological presentations that have a psychological basis that can otherwise be misdiagnosed and thus mistreated.
