Training
Mark Upton read Physiological Sciences (MA) and Clinical Medicine (BM BCh) at Trinity College, Oxford and Oxford University Medical School.
He trained in general medical practice in the Oxford region and then in psychiatry with senior registrar training at the University of Bristol, Bristol Royal Infirmary and North Bristol NHS Trust (Southmead and Frenchay Hospitals).
He trained in neuropsychiatry as the senior registrar and then senior clinical fellow in neuropsychiatry at the Burden Neurological Hospital Bristol, North Bristol Neuroscience Institute and University of Bristol for 4 years prior to taking up substantive consultant post. He also worked with Professor Wilcox in the cognitive disorders clinic.
